Our 1966 Good Humor Ice Cream Truck

The Good Humor bar was invented in 1920 by Harry Burt, a Youngstown, Ohio candy maker. To market his new product, Burt sent out a fleet of 12 chauffeur-driven trucks, outfitted with bells - the first Good Humor trucks and Good Humor men. These refrigerated ice cream trucks were armed with bells to announce their presence.

The "Good Humor" was a fixture in America popular culture for many decades. At its peak, in 1961, the company operated 200 trucks. Hooper's is proud to announce that we now have an original truck parked at our entrance selling Good Humor products to our many patrons. We hope you are as excited to travel back in time to share the many wonderful memories with a new generation. We hope to see you soon!
